How to get more Instagram followers today
Instagram reached a significant milestone in December. Instagram, a mobile photo-sharing network, has reached 300 million active users. This is more than Twitter.
Instagram is more popular than ever. Brands and social media marketers take a closer look at ways to use it more effectively.
In the featured infographic today, which I found at Jeff Bullas’s blog there are 29 tips to help you succeed on buy Instagram followers. It mentions that the best tip is "Engage Your Heart's Desire."
The 5/3/1 Rule suggests that you like five pictures, comment on them three times, and you will earn a new follower. Simple, right?
Neil Patel is someone who has tested this rule and taken it to the next level. In his blog " How to Get Likes and Followers", he describes his detailed method of liking and commenting Instagram photos.
He ends his article by stating that it is best to randomly like thousands, if not hundreds of images per day if you are looking to grow your Instagram by a few hundred a day.
Neil's article (written in 2012) is outdated. I would like to share my thoughts on how to update it to make it more useful.
Today, it is more common than ever to receive an Instagram like or comment from a stranger. The 5/3/1 rule, or any variations thereof, has lost some of its efficacy due to this reality. Instagram users are less likely to reciprocate if you do not align with their interests and photo tastes.
Here are three tips on how to make your comments and likes more effective for 2023
Make sure that your profile is in top shape before you begin to increase your Instagram engagement. You should have 15 photos (to prove you are active on the platform), which accurately reflect who you are or your brand. It is crucial to have a profile that people will check out because of your engagement efforts. You won't get a follower if your profile isn't beautiful, inspirational, useful, humorous or interesting.
Search hashtags relevant to your brand to find photos of the followers you're looking to attract. If you are the owner of Nike Women, and you wish to attract women who are active, you will want to use hashtags such as #fitness,#justdoit or #gymtime. You can then like and comment photos of female accounts who use these hashtags. This method, which incorporates targeting principles, is more effective than simply liking and commenting random photos.
Do not leave generic comments. It takes longer to write a thoughtful, personal comment. However, it is more likely that you will gain a new fan if your comment is personal. Comments such as "Cool!" "Nice pic!" and "insert an emoji here" are commonplace, but they won't make a lasting impression. Encourage someone to visit your account. Leave a comment with some personality and/or heart if you want a new fan.
